The Closest Foreign Land: Experiencing Local Ambiance at the Embassy

Diners Club's "Culture Lab" was launched as a platform for "learning, experience, and encounters" to enrich one's life, with "enriching life" as its keyword. It offers a curated selection of courses, realized through Diners Club's discerning taste, including lectures and events by top-tier instructors who have mastered their fields.
Culture Lab functions as a catalyst for discovering life's richness, offering opportunities to experience firsthand the worldviews of professionals and to meet new friends who share similar interests.
The "Visiting Embassies Series," which tours various countries' embassies, is particularly popular. Participants can experience the history, tourism, and culinary culture of different nations, fostering a closer connection with each country.

Previous events have been held at the embassies of Portugal, Peru, Romania, and Ethiopia. The Portuguese event featured a live performance of "Fado," Portuguese folk music, and a standing buffet of Portuguese cuisine, held at the ambassador's residence where the ambassador's family normally resides. The ability to offer such enriching content alongside the rare opportunity to enter an embassy is unique to Diners Club.
The 8th installment of the "Visiting Embassies Series" was held at the Belgian Embassy in February 2025.
Belgium boasts beautiful nature and historic towns with ancient castles. Mr. Damien, former director of the tourism board, gave a lecture on how to enjoy tourism in Belgium, focusing on the Grand Place, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as well as museums, art galleries, flea markets, and restaurant districts.
Belgium is also known as a leading gastronomic nation in Europe, renowned for its chocolate, waffles, and beer. Participants enjoyed a lecture on Belgian chocolate, including a demonstration, and a buffet of authentic Belgian cuisine prepared by the embassy's chef.
Going forward, Diners Club plans to offer a variety of courses, including the "Visiting Embassies Series," that can only be experienced through Diners Club. The Diners Club Culture Lab provides unforgettable, precious opportunities to engrave experiences onto the heart through the five senses—touch and taste—enabling a deeper understanding of things. We encourage you to pay close attention to future announcements.
