A Bit Disappointing, Frankly
— How do you use the iPad in your daily life?
The most convenient aspect is being able to use it immediately, even in cramped spaces like on a train. The battery lasts longer than a laptop PC, so I can quickly catch up on work when I'm out.
— Is the iPad already widespread in New York?
There are a lot of users!
— How many apps have you downloaded so far?
About 15 to 20, I'd say. I frequently use "Pages," "Kindle," "TweetDeck for iPad," "Flipboard," and "Godfinger for iPad." I recently downloaded "Flipboard" because it was popular among my peers, and it's as good as they say! I also often use the EC site "GILT" application, "GILT for iPad." I'm addicted to GILT shopping (laughs).
— When do you typically use these?
Mostly for work. When I'm thinking about text for my blog or materials related to "NOOKA," I can upload or write anywhere. That's why I bought the iPad. However, I might use it more for relaxing, like reading news or emails in bed, rather than using it while out and about (laughs).

— How has your life changed since you got the iPad?
If I say this, it might end the conversation, but until the software becomes more flexible, I don't think it has had a dramatic impact on my life. Even comparing its functionality, it's inferior to the iPhone or a laptop PC. The media is making a lot of noise about the iPad, but frankly, it's a bit disappointing for me.
When the iPad was announced, I thought, "I absolutely have to have it!" and studied its features, but in reality, I felt it didn't have much use for me. The lack of a camera function is still baffling. I travel a lot, and my initial idea was that I wouldn't need to bring a laptop or digital camera if I had this. I had high expectations for the iPad, so the disappointment is even greater...
The biggest issue is the lack of multitasking in the OS. Second is the browser. With a normal web browser, you can read emails and news while simultaneously chatting or browsing the web on a single screen, but with the iPad, you have to do each in a separate app.
Since I'm used to G-mail and Facebook, I naturally expect similar convenience.
Also, the inability to edit Google Docs and manage files. All information has to be stored within applications. For example, I bought the "Pages" app, but I can't open Google Docs sent via email in "Pages" (crying)! I can only copy and paste. In conclusion, for now, the iPad might just be an overpriced toy.
— Is this a common opinion in New York?
No, not at all. Apple fans are all blindly devoted, so they think the iPad is perfect (laughs).
— How can we enjoy the iPad life more?
I would appreciate an app that can access, process, and save data from various apps. Also, I think we need a system function that allows downloading mp3s and videos from websites and blogs.
— We look forward to future developments! Thank you.
