The much-anticipated annual chocolate fondue all-you-can-eat event, hosted by Seijo Ishii at their wine bar "Le Bar a Vin 52 AZABU TOKYO," has begun. This year's offering, titled "~Using Cacao Barry Couverture (58% Cacao) - Amaou Strawberries, Fresh Fruits & Chocolate Fondue All-You-Can-Eat!," will run until late March.

Featuring Cacao Barry Couverture Chocolate, a Historic French Brand
"Le Bar a Vin 52 AZABU TOKYO," a wine bar operated by Seijo Ishii, offers a captivating culinary experience through its curated selection of wines and food products. This year marks the return of the popular chocolate fondue all-you-can-eat, featuring carefully selected ingredients also available at Seijo Ishii.
The star attraction for 2020 is the Amaou strawberry from Fukuoka Prefecture. Known as the "King of Strawberries," these berries boast a deep sweetness with a subtle tartness and an appealingly large size. Alongside this exquisite fruit, the chocolate sauce itself has been upgraded this year. It now features couverture chocolate from Cacao Barry, one of France's most historic chocolate manufacturers.
Cacao Barry's couverture chocolate is of such high quality that its inherent sweetness can be appreciated even in high-cacao varieties. It is characterized by a smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture, with virtually no astringency or off-flavors. The fondue sauce is crafted with simple ingredients: 58% cacao couverture chocolate, pure Hokkaido fresh cream, and milk, creating a sauce perfectly balanced to complement the fruits.
In addition to Amaou strawberries, the chef has selected other fruits that pair exceptionally well with chocolate, such as apples and pineapples, as well as grapes imported directly by Seijo Ishii, all sourced from items available at the store. Furthermore, the spread includes Seijo Ishii's subtly popular "Sea Salt Senbei" (rice crackers) and house-made baguettes, offering a delightful harmony where the saltiness of the snacks enhances the sweetness of the chocolate.
To complement the chocolate fondue, Seijo Ishii's staff, including sommeliers, have selected a crisp and elegant Spanish sparkling wine. This pairing allows guests to fully enjoy the marriage of flavors with the strawberries and chocolate.
