China Shadow, the Chinese restaurant at The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo, is hosting its summer free-flow "Chinois & Cocktails" from Wednesday, July 1 to Monday, August 31, 2020, on weekday evenings. It's an unusual pairing of deeply flavorful Chinese cuisine, loved since the hotel's opening, and specialty cocktails from an up-and-coming bartender.

Since its opening in 2003, "China Shadow" has been celebrated for its delicate flavors born from skilled technique. Now, "Chinois & Cocktails" offers a free-flow selection of drinks, including cocktails and mocktails (non-alcoholic cocktails) created by Head Bartender TSUKASA TAKAHASHI, to complement the dishes showcasing the culinary artistry of Chef SHOUJI KUROYANAGI.

The "Chinois & Cocktails" menu features a special course where guests can enjoy China Shadow's most popular dishes in an appetizer style. The selection includes tempting items like Peking duck, abalone with green Sichuan pepper sauce, and shrimp with green mayonnaise sauce – dishes that are sure to pair perfectly with a drink.

Accompanying these dishes is a special menu of cocktails and mocktails created exclusively for "Chinois & Cocktails." Highlights include "Chinese Needs," a China Shadow-style rendition of the cocktail "Bees Knees," and a unique plum wine soda infused with dried tangerine peel.

The course concludes with a special Dan Dan noodles and almond jelly. All dishes are served individually, eliminating the need for sharing, and seating is comfortably spaced.
