A Chef Carrying the Essence of a Legendary Restaurant Travels Across Japan
"El Bulli," a renowned Spanish restaurant that gained fame as an impossible-to-book establishment before its sudden closure in 2011, captivated the world. With only 45 seats, it received 2 million reservation requests annually. The restaurant, which earned three Michelin stars and was named the world's best restaurant five times (2002, 2006-2009), remains a legend in people's memories.
Alain Deyberhaive Trosa, who is visiting Japan, worked for 10 years as the right-hand man to "El Bulli's" star chef, Ferran Adrià.
He is now making a name for himself as the owner-chef of "Catalunya," the restaurant that ignited the Spanish cuisine boom in Singapore and Hong Kong.
He is now visiting Japan in March as part of an Asian tour that includes Ritz-Carlton hotels in various Asian countries. Following Singapore and Hong Kong, he will conduct his Japan tour in Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo, before heading to Shanghai, Beijing, and Tianjin.
Exquisite Dishes Blending Traditional Spanish Cuisine with Originality
Born in Barcelona, Spain, Alain's cuisine is based on the traditional dishes of his native Catalonia region. His true mastery lies in infusing these with the essence of "El Bulli," known for its innovative techniques like "molecular gastronomy," to create an unprecedented style of Spanish cuisine.
Among his signature dishes is the highly acclaimed "Cochon d'Or Scallop and Artichoke." This dish, featuring crispy roasted pork belly, is as visually stunning as a painting, adorned with scallops and artichokes.
Regarding his visit, Alain commented, "I am very excited about this Japan tour. Although it's a short period of less than a month, I eagerly look forward to welcoming everyone alongside the Japanese Ritz-Carlton hotels."
We eagerly await the arrival of Chef Alain, whose cuisine has impressed gourmands worldwide.
