Rossi, the Italian restaurant at THE AOYAMA GRAND HOTEL in Aoyama, Tokyo, reopened on April 1, 2024, as a trattoria offering a casual dining experience.

A Cheerful Italian Where Communication Flourishes
THE AOYAMA GRAND HOTEL is a boutique hotel that opened in August 2020 on the former site of Aoyama Bell Commons. Its Italian restaurant, Rossi, located on the 20th floor, was popular as a place to enjoy authentic Italian cuisine, primarily course menus.
With this renovation, the menu has been completely revamped, transforming it into a restaurant where guests can enjoy à la carte dining.
The interior has also been redesigned, featuring an immersive open kitchen. The space has been updated into a lively atmosphere where guests can feel authentic Italy through the sounds and aromas from the kitchen. Warmth is conveyed through a design based on wood and tiles.
Additionally, the seating options are a highlight, offering round tables perfect for groups, window seats for leisurely meals with family and friends, semi-private areas with subtle partitions, and a counter for a quick drink. This variety allows guests to choose according to their needs for the day.
Attention has also been paid to the in-house music, with the sound design team "SOUND CoUTURE" curating the playlist. Aiming for an atmosphere that blends the origins of ingredients with the city, they have selected sounds that complement the energy and liveliness of the open kitchen, incorporating Italian library music, 70s-80s Japanese easy listening, and contemporary global jazz.
The cuisine has, of course, also been updated. The chef team travels to producers across the country, utilizing carefully selected ingredients they encounter. They gather stories about the ingredients' characteristics and the producers' dedication, as well as the best ways to use them, and create menus with a focus on direct communication.
Mr. Takeshima's Buffalo Mozzarella and Kiwi Salad
A caprese-style salad featuring rare buffalo mozzarella made by Mr. Takeshima in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, along with carefully selected fruits from producers nationwide. A refreshing start to dinner.
Aizu Horse Meat Tartare
Flavorful Aizu horse meat is finely minced into a tartare, creating a tender texture that melts in the mouth. Generously served atop baguette, this dish offers a refined and juicy meat flavor. We encourage you to enjoy it heartily with your hands.
King Shiitake Aglio e Olio Spaghetti
King Shiitake mushrooms, sourced from Fukuda Farm in Nanai Town, Hokkaido. These exceptionally thick and juicy mushrooms, which even surprise chefs, are the star of this pasta, prepared in a traditional Italian aglio e olio style to bring out their rich umami.
Hoshōju Lemon Cake
Hoshōju lemons from Osaki Shimojima Island, Hiroshima Prefecture, are known as "miracle lemons" and are a special variety not found in regular markets. This cake is made with generous amounts of these lemons, which the chef was captivated by during a visit to the farm. It's a refreshing dessert befitting the final course of an Italian meal.
At Rossi's dinner service, fresh ingredients delivered that day are brought to each table, starting with guests seeing the ingredients themselves. The staff engage in warm interactions, sharing stories about the ingredients from producers and suggesting preparation methods tailored to guests' preferences, offering a menu that truly caters to each diner.
