EAT | Restaurant "ai" Rebrands as "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA"
EAT│Renamed to "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA" on French National Day
Keisuke Matsushima's "Restaurant I" changes name to "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA"
In 2009, Keisuke Matsushima, who earned a Michelin star at the young age of 28, opened "Restaurant I" in Jingumae. On July 14th, French National Day, the restaurant was renamed "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA." The restaurant, now bearing the same name as the one Matsushima opened in Nice, France, in 2002, transforms into a place where one can feel the essence of Nice without the time difference and savor understated luxury.

Includes "FRANCE" to signify its French corporate identity
Keisuke Matsushima opened his restaurant "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA" in Nice, France, on December 20, 2002, his 25th birthday. Expressing the delicate sensibilities and values of Japan, he became the youngest foreign chef to receive a Michelin star in 2006, maintaining it for nine consecutive years. Furthermore, he has been recognized with the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture, demonstrating his active career spanning both Japan and France.
He returned to Japan in 2009, opening "Restaurant I" in Jingumae, which has since captivated Tokyo's gourmands. Now, in its fifth year, driven by a desire to share his achievements, recognized in the heart of French cuisine, with the people of Tokyo and to connect Nice with the capital, the restaurant has been renamed "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA." Additionally, "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA FRANCE" incorporates the word "FRANCE" to signify its status as a French enterprise.
Matsushima has consistently presented contemporary interpretations of French traditional flavors, and the tastes inherited from the scenic and ingredient-rich Nice, filtered through Japanese sensibilities and a Japanese lens, to suit modern palates. With the revamped Tokyo establishment, "KEISUKE MATSUSHIMA," one can anticipate experiencing the flavors and atmosphere of Nice through all five senses, as crafted by Matsushima.
