A premium outdoor restaurant, "DINING OUT," which opens for just a few days in a secret location across Japan, will be held for two nights only on May 31st (Saturday) and June 1st (Sunday) in Taketa City, Oita Prefecture. Inviting acclaimed French chef Lionel Beccat (of "ESqUISSE") to this event, a "superb outdoor restaurant" will appear, offering the land's finest ingredients in a setting that most symbolizes the region.

The Evocative Castle Ruins, Stage for "Castle of the Moon," Become the Main Dining Hall
"DINING OUT" began in 2012, organized by Hakuhodo DY Media Partners. It has since been held in locations such as Sado Island in Niigata, Yaeyama in Okinawa, and Iya, known as a hidden gem in Shikoku. This time, the stage for "DINING OUT TAKETA with LEXUS" is Taketa City, Oita Prefecture. The main dining venue will be set up at the ruins of Oka Castle, where Rentaro Taki is said to have conceived "Castle of the Moon," creating a fantastical restaurant.
This event is known for featuring a different acclaimed chef each time. For this occasion, Lionel Beccat, Executive Chef at the Ginza French restaurant "ESqUISSE," who resonates with "DINING OUT's" concept of rediscovering local charms, even those unknown to residents, through food, will showcase his culinary skills.
The host role falls to columnist Noritoshi Nakamura. "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" Nakamura, who serves as the representative juror for Japan, shares a close friendship with Chef Beccat. He even accompanied the chef on a journey to visit local producers and brainstorm menu ideas. Additionally, the event will feature a performance by "DRUM TAO," a world-renowned taiko drumming group based in Taketa City.
