A Shop Where Every Detail Shines
Founded by Tom, originally from Australia, and Antoine, from Lyon, France, Coutume is a popular Parisian establishment celebrated as "the cafe serving the most delicious coffee right now" in a city with a mature cafe culture.
They source their "single-origin coffee" directly from "the finest farms" that meticulously tend to their soil. This carefully selected coffee is then roasted and brewed according to their unique profiling, resulting in a cup where umami, acidity, and aroma create an exquisite harmony. Through an unwavering commitment to every step of the process, they craft a cup that transcends conventional coffee, offering a fruity flavor profile akin to fine wine.
Coutume is also recognized as a pioneer of Paris's "third coffee wave," supplying beans to numerous restaurants and cafes across France. Their passion and philosophy for coffee are even reflected in their logo: the blue-green dot represents the raw bean, the chestnut dot signifies roasting, and the golden drop symbolizes extraction.
The first Japanese store, now open on Kotto-dori, features a menu including steampunk coffee brewed with a fine metal filter, alongside espresso-based drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and cortados. They also offer a selection of sandwiches and cakes. Why not visit Aoyama to experience authentic French coffee?
