Kutani ware is a traditional craft representing Ishikawa Prefecture. Its defining characteristic is the vibrant overglaze enamel, meticulously hand-painted on each piece. Among its various coloring techniques, 'Akai' (red painting) is further refined by the extremely delicate overglaze technique known as 'Akai Saibyo' (fine red line drawing), which accounts for only about 1% of all Kutani ware production. Kazuhiko Yonekyu, a master inheriting this technique, is responsible for the vessels used in this collaboration.

Chef Matsumoto of Teppanyaki 'Kutani' will present dishes worthy of Mr. Yonekyu's creations, using carefully selected seasonal ingredients.

The event runs from Monday, June 3rd to Wednesday, July 31st. Prices are ¥7,350 for lunch and ¥15,750 for dinner (all prices include tax, service charge is separate). On Wednesday, July 3rd, during lunchtime, an event is planned where guests can witness Mr. Yonekyu painting in person.

The next, third installment will feature a collaboration between Sushi 'Arita,' also located on the 45th floor of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo, and Arita ware, scheduled for September. This is also eagerly anticipated.
