At Hoshinoya Kyoto, a premium resort in Kyoto's Arashiyama, a "Night Cherry Blossom Dinner" will be held from Monday, March 25 to Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Guests can savor the kaiseki cuisine "Gomijizai" and a glass of champagne while admiring the illuminated night cherry blossoms of Okurayama.

Enjoy Okurayama's Night Cherry Blossoms and Kaiseki Cuisine from an Exclusive Terrace Seat for One Group Per Day
Hoshinoya Kyoto, an all-riverview ryokan in Kyoto's Arashiyama, will host its "Night Cherry Blossom Dinner" from Monday, March 25 to Wednesday, April 10, 2019. A special seat, exclusively for one group per day, will be set up on the "Sky Tea Room" terrace that juts out over the Oi River. From this vantage point, guests can enjoy the kaiseki cuisine "Gomijizai," inspired by the vibrant spring scenery, and a glass of champagne, while taking in the close-up view of the illuminated wild cherry trees.
The menu is crafted by Ichiro Kubota, Executive Chef at Hoshinoya Kyoto, who draws inspiration from the history and traditional culture of Japanese cuisine while freely incorporating diverse ingredients and cooking methods. Kyoto, long a flourishing capital, has a history of absorbing cultural artifacts and ingredients from across Japan and the world, fostering the refinement of various ingredients and techniques. Even today, rich culture and a wide array of ingredients form the foundation of Kyo-ryori (Kyoto cuisine).

"Gomijizai" embodies the diversity nurtured in Kyoto, offering dishes that capture the essence of the Okurayama season, reflecting the desire for guests to fully experience the unique atmosphere of this region surrounded by mountains and the changing seasons. The cuisine incorporates ingredients in soft hues of spring pink, golden yellow, and fresh green, allowing guests to savor the flavors of spring's new growth and subtle bitterness, delighting both the eyes and the palate with the full bloom of spring.
