A Touch of Japanese Essence Inspired by Hokusai's Works
From October 21st (Saturday) to January 28th, 2018, Conrad Tokyo's "Collage" will offer a special course menu in collaboration with the "Hokusai and Japonisme: The Impact of HOKUSAI on the West" exhibition, held at The National Museum of Western Art (Ueno Park, Tokyo).
Just as renowned Western masters like Monet and Van Gogh drew creative inspiration from the genius ukiyo-e artist Katsushika Hokusai, this menu draws inspiration from Hokusai's intimate perspective on nature within the realm of modern French cuisine. It is, of course, filled with surprises and discoveries.
The collaboration menu features
• "Simplicity" as Depicted by Gauguin
• "Rhythm" Learned by Monet
unique naming. What could be the mystery behind them? This is a rare and special modern French experience that one must taste to truly appreciate.

"Simplicity" as Depicted by Gauguin. Pan-seared John Dory with Kita-akari potato and Chinese cabbage.
You can also enjoy pairings with sake and wine curated by Yasuyuki Kitahara, known as the world's best sake sommelier. The entire experience, from the ingredients and beverages to the Japanese cutlery and menu cards, promises a captivating immersion in Japonisme.
