Focus on Cool, Refreshing Appetizers for a Heated Body
"La Luciole," meaning "firefly" in French, is a hidden wine bar in Ginza where you can enjoy a variety of wines from all over France and delicious food pairings. This time, they are launching "Chilled French," a summer course menu focused on three healthy, cold appetizers that are easy to eat even in the heat.
The featured cold appetizers are inspired by Japanese summer ingredients like corn, edamame, and tomatoes, as well as Japanese dishes and sweets such as hiyayakko (cold tofu), kakigori (shaved ice), and zenzai (sweet red bean soup). The menu includes unique and wine-friendly dishes like "Corn Kakigori," which uses corn to its fullest, "Truffle Hiyayakko" with sliced truffles instead of katsuobushi, and "Pecorino Romano Gnocchi and Edamame Zenzai," which reimagines gnocchi and edamame as azuki beans and shiratama dango.
The three appetizers are served in a style where you choose one dish from two prefix options. The main course is La Luciole's signature charcoal-grilled domestic Kuroge Wagyu beef, followed by dessert and coffee & cookies, creating a satisfyingly balanced meal.
With the visually refreshing and healthy "Chilled French" and wine, you can beat the humid Japanese summer in style.
