The Café by Aman Opens in Otemachi's Natural Forest

Nestled within the "Otemachi Forest" at the foot of Otemachi Tower, where AMAN TOKYO, the urban hotel that opened last December, is located, The Café by Aman—Aman's first-ever cafe worldwide—opened its doors on June 1st. Enjoy à la carte selections throughout the day.

A Standalone Cafe in Tokyo's Otemachi Forest

From the ground-floor hotel entrance of Aman Tokyo, a path leads to the cafe, a separate building surrounded by lush greenery. The forest, known as "Otemachi Forest," was cultivated over three years of testing (pre-forest) in the Kanto region before being transplanted to Otemachi. It offers a diverse landscape teeming with various life forms, closely resembling a wild forest.

This forest is designed with a combination of evergreen and deciduous trees of varying heights and ages, arranged with diverse densities to replicate natural ecosystems. It was born from the wish to "recreate an environment where people can find peace in the heart of Tokyo."

Enjoy All Day, Embracing the Seasons

The cafe, designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding forest greenery, features 24 indoor seats, 8 counter seats, and 25 outdoor terrace seats. With a live open kitchen, guests can savor dishes crafted by the chef using carefully selected seasonal ingredients, including salads, sandwiches, seasonal terrines, crepes, stews, and desserts. These can be enjoyed with a selection of wines and Aman's original sake, directly sourced from renowned breweries and offering a light taste.

From its opening through the summer, the menu includes amberjack terrine, romaine lettuce salad with carbonara sauce, Bolognese crepes made with Tokachi Angus beef, Sicilian "Trapani paste" crepes, white asparagus and ribollita soup, and main courses such as bouillabaisse and braised Australian lamb shank with couscous.

While a casual cafe accessible without reservations, it is helmed by a chef who trained in Italy and gained extensive experience in fine dining Italian and French cuisine at top-tier restaurants and luxury hotels.
