Monumental Art in the American Desert

'Burning Man' is an experimental art event held annually in the Black Rock Desert of northwestern Nevada, from the last Monday in August to the first Monday in September.

Approximately 70,000 participants, known as 'Burners,' spend a week surviving in the desert without infrastructure, building Black Rock City and creating and exhibiting artworks.

At the center of the vast site stands the iconic, colossal effigy known as 'The Man,' surrounded by a myriad of imaginative large-scale artworks. Throughout the venue, decorated vehicles called 'Art Cars' and 'Mutant Vehicles' also appear, enhancing the atmosphere.


At the end of the week, many of the artworks, including 'The Man,' are set ablaze, reaching the peak of participant excitement. The sight is nothing short of magical. Eventually, the city is dismantled, leaving no trace behind, and the desert returns to its original state.

Tickets cost around $400 and sell out within hours of release each year. Its popularity is growing globally, with an increasing number of fans each year.

An official collection of these monumental artworks from 'Burning Man' has now been released.
