The art festival "Roppongi Art Night 2026," set against the backdrop of the city of Roppongi, will be held from Saturday, October 31 to Sunday, November 1. The all-night event, where you can enjoy art from sunset to sunrise, is returning for the first time in three years. Approximately 60 programs will be presented throughout Roppongi, including at Roppongi Hills and Tokyo Midtown.

A Rare Opportunity to Experience France's Premier Performing Arts
Roppongi Art Night 2026 illuminates the city of Roppongi all night long with a diverse range of art, including exhibitions, performances, and installations.
This year's "RAN Focus" program, which highlights art from different countries and regions at each event, features France. In partnership with the French Embassy in Japan and Institut Français, this presents a valuable opportunity to enjoy France's carefully selected performing arts.
Among the highlights, the company of Yoan Bourgeois, a globally acclaimed artistic director and choreographer, will present two fantastical, gravity-defying works that skillfully utilize trampolines and rotating stage sets.
Sculptor and set designer Ivan Clédat and Coco Petitpierre bring to life scenes of "bathing" frequently depicted in classical paintings, presenting them through vibrant and humorous performances.
In the installation section, contemporary artist Charles Fréger's "WA," which explores the duality of existence—such as transience and eternity, stillness and motion, the individual and the collective—will be exhibited at the Roppongi Hills Arena.
At Roppongi West Park, Olivier Grossetête's art project "Monumental Cardboard Construction" will also be held. This project merges architectural elements with a participatory approach, creating magnificent and unconventional works solely from cardboard and tape, offering enjoyment for both creators and viewers.
In addition to "RAN Focus," installations and performances by artists from Japan and abroad will be showcased.
At Roppongi Hills, UxU Studio's "Libido," composed of industrial warning lights that change dramatically depending on the viewer's perspective, and "Ectoplasm Balete" by Leroy New, inspired by the "Balete" tree—long associated with myth and folklore in the Philippines—will be exhibited.
The Mori Art Museum will also host new solo exhibitions, such as "Mariko Mori: Reborn," coinciding with Roppongi Art Night.
At Midtown, visitors can enjoy Toru Nakazaki's "Human Landscape in MIDTOWN," a sculptural work comprising three lightboxes that are best appreciated at night, and an exhibition showcasing all the award-winning works from this year's 70th Good Design Award.
A one-night-only art festival unfolds in Roppongi, from Halloween night into the early morning of the next day. It promises to be an extraordinary and immersive experience where visitors' actions—engaging all senses and actively participating—become part of the artwork, extending beyond mere observation.

Performances will include Leila K's "Bluff," Isham Belada's "Presage" featuring guest appearance by Japanese artist ATNRA, and Clément Cogitore's "Les Indes Galantes," "Morgestraich," and "Elegies."

Installations can generally be viewed between 10:00 on Saturday, October 31, and 22:00 on Sunday, November 1, but this varies by artwork. Some are only exhibited during the all-night core hours (October 31, 17:00 – November 1, 6:00), while others are extended until Sunday, November 8. Therefore, checking in advance is recommended.
