Talk Show Also Held
Born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1974, Ken Hanzawa studied photography at Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts, USA, before apprenticing under Albert Watson, a titan of fashion and art photography, in New York. After returning to Japan in 1999, he established himself as an independent photographer, earning widespread acclaim from artists and the fashion industry for his sophisticated and avant-garde style.
This is Hanzawa's second photo book, following his debut "RHYTHM" in 2008, which captured grand global landscapes. "HI-LITE" focuses on abandoned cars he serendipitously discovered during his travels.
For this book, Hanzawa dedicated his private time to traveling across Japan, seeking out and photographing abandoned vehicles. The resulting collection evokes the passage of time and hints at untold stories, emanating from cars left behind for reasons unknown.
The photo exhibition will showcase works based on this book. On Saturday, April 5th, starting at 6:00 PM, Ken Hanzawa will host a talk show. Hanzawa, who has collaborated with numerous artists and also garners attention as a cinematographer, will share insights into his creative process and behind-the-scenes stories.
