A World of Plants Unfolding Like Beautiful Textiles, Geometric Patterns, and Abstract Paintings

Tatsuya Suzuki was born in Tokyo in 1980. He began winning contests while studying at the Nippon Photography Institute, and has remained active since graduating in 2011, marking him as one of the promising photographers to watch. This exhibition, 'Patterns in Discontinuity,' meaning 'regularity within discontinuity,' stems from Suzuki's everyday observations.

Suzuki explains the genesis of the series: 'I felt a strong sense of unease about the hedge in front of my house, and it caught my eye. As I observed it more closely, I realized I was seeing something within the countless scattered leaves. Yet, if it shifted even slightly, it lost its appeal and became just another plant. I decided to continue observing and photographing to understand why.'

The exhibition showcases Suzuki's world of plants, captured through his emotional lens after repeated observation. These images unfold like beautiful textiles, geometric patterns, and abstract paintings. An opening reception will also be held on the first day, Saturday, February 22nd, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Suzuki sheds light on subjects we typically overlook and pass by, finding beauty and order within them. He presents us with new possibilities for perception amidst the chaos of our daily lives.
