Ruinart, the world's oldest Champagne house with a 290-year history, is also known for its profound appreciation of art.
This relationship began in 1896 when Ruinart commissioned Alphonse Mucha, a leading figure of Art Nouveau, to create an advertising poster.
Today, Ruinart hosts an annual "Artist in Residence" program, inviting emerging artists to stay at the maison and create works. This collaboration with artists embodies the maison's affinity for art.
This year, a collaboration with Vik Muniz, known as the "magician of visual arts," has come to fruition.
Muniz visited Sillery, one of Ruinart's vineyards located in the northernmost part of Europe, and became increasingly captivated by its natural beauty.
Upon learning about the lengthy process required to produce Champagne, he focused on the "flow" of this journey. Drawing inspiration from this, he created works expressing the vine trunks using black-dyed wood fragments and charcoal.

This work, which had its Japanese premiere at the international photography festival "KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival 2019" held in Kyoto, will now be exhibited in Tokyo as part of "TOKYOGRAPHIE 2019."
The venue is the GALLERY at "KASHIYAMA DAIKANYAMA," a space that brings together fashion, food, design, and art, and also houses galleries that promote culture and art.
This is an event where you can experience the cutting edge of artists active both domestically and internationally. We encourage you to visit.
