Beyond his distinctive presence in films, Masatoshi Nagase also has a life as a photographer. His grandfather was a photographer. Inheriting the will of his grandfather, who was forced to abandon his path as a photographer after his camera was stolen during the turbulent post-war period, Nagase has also been energetically active as a photographer.

This exhibition features fantastical photographs centered on motifs unique to Miyazaki Prefecture, the land of myths. These include landscape photos of Miyazaki, works capturing traditional craftspeople of Miyazaki, and images of Amaterasu Omikami, said to have been shot using models and staff from Miyazaki.

In addition, there will be collaborations and installations with renowned ceramic artist Katsuhiro Sakai and costume designer SHIRO ARAKI. Furthermore, the Miyazaki Kinema Museum will host a variety of events, including screenings of short films and art films by Masatoshi Nagase.
