Artist Talk by the Designers on Opening Day (Advance Registration Required)

In an era marked by rapidly changing trends and the rise of fast fashion, "Philosophical Fashion" introduces creators who question the meaning of clothing and consistently propose fashion based on a coherent concept. The first installment in January was "FINAL HOME," the second was "ANREALAGE," and the third, "Philosophical Fashion 3," features "mintdesigns."


Ms. Megumi Hirabayashi, Curator at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, states, "The fashion brand 'mintdesigns,' by Hokuto Katsui and Nao Yagi, has garnered attention for its clothing designs that leverage the uniqueness of textiles they develop independently. Concurrently, they actively engage in collaborations with diverse industries, including tableware, furniture, and traditional sweets, continuously expanding their design domain. Their work, aiming to enrich daily life beyond clothing through product design, proposes a possibility of 'fashion' that is not synonymous with 'trends.'"


This exhibition, themed "happy people," is an experiment in integrating mintdesigns' clothing into daily life, showcasing moments where people living in Tokyo and Kanazawa encounter mintdesigns within their own everyday spaces.
