The Aesthetics of Unwearable Clothing
This exhibition boldly explores the strange side of fashion, featuring over 80 costumes and installations by 58 fashion designers. Participants range from emerging talents to big names like Martin Margiela, Walter Van Beirendonck, and Rick Owens. They have created abstract silhouettes and voluminous costumes using unique materials and colors. Furthermore, concealing faces with costumes and masks enhances the mystery of the works.
The "monsters" displayed throughout the venue possess both a frightening and endearing quality. Through this exhibition, visitors are prompted to question stereotyped notions of fashion and to doubt their own aesthetics and identity. The "monsters" convey the concept that beauty and ugliness are subjective, and there is no single correct answer.
