Valentino's Couture: A Fusion of Exquisite Materials and Delicate Craftsmanship

The exhibition features 130 selected pieces from Valentino's haute couture collections. His creations have been adored by royalty, first ladies, and celebrities alike. On display are dresses worn by Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Gwyneth Paltrow. The exhibition is divided into three areas, each with a distinct theme, showcasing not only his designs but also glimpses of his atelier and personal belongings.

The first area, "Valentino," presents personal photographs, images of him at work, and show invitations. The second area, "The Catwalk," recreates a 60-meter runway used in fashion shows. Mannequins adorned in Valentino's evening gowns, suits, mini dresses, capes, and kaftans are arranged by color on either side of the runway.

Descending the stairs, one enters the final area, "The Atelier and Les Petites Mains." Princess Marie-Chantal's wedding dress is beautifully displayed, allowing viewers to appreciate its elegance and intricate details. Here, one can also witness scenes typically confined to the atelier. Valentino's couture pieces are meticulously handcrafted by artisans, each taking hours or days to complete. The exhibition showcases videos detailing the artisans' precise techniques and Valentino's unique methods.

"Each of my designs has a wonderful story hidden within it. This exhibition is also a unique opportunity to show Valentino's couture, usually only seen at fashion shows and on the red carpet, to the general public," Valentino has said.
