The Culture of Japanese Fragrance

Following the large-scale solo exhibition "Noritaka Tatehana Re-think Exhibition" held last year at Omotesando Hills, this exhibition continues the theme of "Rethinking Japanese Culture," with a particular focus on "the fragrance of Japanese culture."

Numerous new works will be displayed, including his signature heel-less shoes and incense burners inspired by the "Genji-kō no Zu" (Designs of Genji Incense). In the Japanese-style rooms within the venue, a "Kō-dō Experience" (incense appreciation) will be offered in collaboration with Shoyeido, a long-established incense maker from Kyoto.

Kō-dō, which translates to "listening to fragrance," also offers the pleasure of appreciating the scent of agarwood. Additionally, the latest works from Tatehana's "THEORY OF THE ELEMENTS" series, inspired by the pipes of courtesans, will be unveiled for the first time.
