This is the second installment of "TRAVEL THE ART WORLD," a new series introducing art exhibitions from around the globe. From October 20, 2012, to January 27, 2013, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London will host an exhibition of costumes worn by actors and actresses in Hollywood films. This is a rare opportunity to see firsthand the costumes of various protagonists selected from numerous iconic Hollywood movies.

Over 130 Hollywood Costumes Unveiled in One Exhibition
The "Hollywood Costume" exhibition showcases costumes worn by protagonists in Hollywood films, spanning from the late 1930s, considered the golden age of cinema, to the present day. Among the exhibits are Dorothy's gingham dress from "The Wizard of Oz" (1939), and the Givenchy "little black dress" worn by Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961), which briefly became a trend. Alongside these iconic pieces from classic films, the exhibition also features looks from more recent hits such as Jack Sparrow from "Pirates of the Caribbean" and Austin Powers.
Costume design plays a crucial role in film production and storytelling. We hope you enjoy exploring the allure of these diverse costumes and witnessing the evolution of costume design from the past to the present.
