Workshop to Create Your Own Silk Screen Artwork
Daido Moriyama, a photographer of international renown with exhibitions in museums worldwide, has collaborated with Gucci. This marks a special occasion, being the first time in his extensive career that his work is presented solely through silk screen prints.
For the exhibition, Moriyama personally selected pieces from his vast portfolio that evoke Gucci. These works, rendered in silk screen on 100x150 cm canvases, possess a striking texture and a unique charm distinct from traditional photography. In addition to the exhibition space on the third floor of Gucci Shinjuku, three pieces will also be displayed in the 8-meter-long window facing Shinjuku Street.
Furthermore, on Saturday, November 3rd, Sunday, November 4th, and Sunday, November 11th, workshops will be held allowing participants to experience the silk screen technique used by Moriyama. Attendees can select their preferred Moriyama artwork and paper from a curated selection of five pieces, creating a personalized original work. Each finished piece will be stamped on the back with "DAIDO MORIYAMA×GUCCI 2012," an irresistible opportunity for fans.
The "Mesh" exhibition features approximately 30 works, most of which are being shown for the first time. We invite you to discover a new facet of Moriyama's artistry, brought forth by the convergence of Gucci and silk screen.
