Gucci launches “GUCCI 4 ROOMS,” an innovative art project that communicates the brand's aesthetic through an entirely new experience. A Virtual and Real World Woven by Three Japanese Artists

Titled “GUCCI 4 ROOMS,” this project draws inspiration from the eclectic and original world of Gucci envisioned by Creative Director Alessandro Michele. Four artists have each created a "room," with their works presented in both virtual and real formats, marking a novel exhibition approach. The artists' creations are currently showcased in a digital space online and as an interactive installation in Ginza, Tokyo.

For this project, Alessandro Michele commissioned three internationally recognized Japanese artistsChiharu Shiota, Daito Manabe, and Mr.to collaborate. Each artist has crafted an imaginative room based on themes symbolizing Alessandro's designs and aesthetic, interpreting them through their unique perspectives and techniques.

Chiharu Shiota's “GUCCI HERBARIUM ROOM” mystically weaves the spirituality embedded in Gucci's Herbarium pattern. Daito Manabe's “GUCCI WORDS ROOM” develops a new video installation inspired by words presented by Alessandro in his collections. Mr.'s “GUCCI GARDEN ROOM” creates a garden expressing his messages. Additionally, Trouble Andrew, an artist who collaborated with Alessandro on Gucci's Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection, participates as a fourth artist, presenting a secret art installation in a hidden fourth room.

The rooms created by the artists are first unveiled on a dedicated microsite (gucci4rooms.gucci.com), where guests can explore the digital space as if playing a computer game. Trouble Andrew's room serves as a secret room, accessible only to guests who discover hidden elements within the other three rooms, making the site an engaging, game-like experience.

Each room features the latest items from Gucci's Fall/Winter 2016-17 collection, jewelry from the 2017 Cruise collection, and special Japan-exclusive items. Guests can enjoy an artistic digital experience while also having the option to shop directly through the official Gucci online store (gucci.com).

Following this, the digital rooms are recreated as physical installations. The works by the three Japanese artists are currently on display in the event space on the 7th floor of Gucci Ginza until January 27th. Trouble Andrew's installation is presented in the event space on the 1st floor of DOVER STREET MARKET GINZA.

“GUCCI 4 ROOMS” invites visitors into a completely new cultural experience. It is an exploration of a world brimming with creativity and imagination, born from the fusion of Japanese and Italian spirits, and the intersection of art and fashion, digital and analog, virtual and real. We encourage you to experience it in both its physical and virtual forms during its run.
