Exhibition Features Signature Skull Motifs and Calligraphy, Creating a Unique Space
USGROW began creating art in the early 1990s while involved in the underground music scene. In an era before the internet, they steadily built a core following using limited communication tools, and through accumulated recognition and experience, emerged onto the global art scene as an artist with a unique background.
Today, USGROW's signature dynamic yet delicate dotwork and line-drawn skull and floral motifs, along with calligraphy in their distinctive typeface, are highly acclaimed not only in Japan but also internationally.
This exhibition marks USGROW's first solo show in Japan in a decade. The venue displays intricate and delicate illustrations alongside flowing, exhilarating calligraphy. USGROW, who originally created band flyers, has crafted a space with a palpable sense of live energy. In addition to the exhibited works, the exhibition also offers art books and merchandise for sale.
USGROW describes skulls as "symbols of death and symbols of life," creating an otherworldly aesthetic. It's easy to see why the artist commands a cult following worldwide with this captivating exhibition.
