Part 3: PEARL SISTERS

Drawing & Copywrite by Mic*Itaya

Mermaid sisters dwell in the deep, distant sea, singing on rocks that jut from the waves. Pearls are born from drops of stars and moon, polished by sun and sea, nurtured by special shells. Each pearl is not strung or drilled to connect, but bound by a shared consciousness of beauty, coming together and drifting apart.

Daughters who possess an unadorned sense of beauty attract many pearls, so they always sing and praise whenever they find or encounter something beautiful. Their song, preceding words, seems to emanate from their entire being, enchanting listeners.

A song drifts in on the tide. Let us prepare to go to the sea. We will adorn our heads with crowns woven from star flowers and heart flowers. As they know nothing of trees, grasses, fields, or mountains, we shall show them the beauty of the land. Like the pearls, the crowns of star flowers and heart flowers are not bound by string or drilled holes. They are free, natural creations, gathered and joined by the feeling of beauty, nurtured by starlight, moonlight, sunlight, and wind.

I so look forward to meeting the mermaid sisters. I believe they too anticipate our meeting. When we meet, we always sing together. A beautiful song celebrating an ordinary day. We say goodbye before the edge of the sun reaches the horizon. For we prepare for tomorrow during the time of stars and moon.
