A Rising Artist's First Solo Exhibition in Japan
Jules Julien Presents "CADAVRES EXQUIS"
DIESEL DENIM GALLERY, with locations only in Tokyo and New York, is a must-visit spot for discovering new artistic talent.
Beginning May 23rd (Saturday), we present "CADAVRES EXQUIS" by Jules Julien, a young French artist gaining global attention.
"CADAVRES EXQUIS" – An Exploration of "Today's Tokyo"
This is the first solo exhibition in Japan by Jules Julien, born in 1975 and based in Paris as an artist and illustrator, titled "CADAVRES EXQUIS –優美な屍骸–".
The theme of this exhibition is a singular style established through the fusion of diverse fashions.
He deconstructs photographs of models from fashion magazines into fragmented parts, then reassembles them into entirely new forms and shapes through his unique perspective.
Through the body parts that connect individuals to clothing, he explores the "junctions" between inner and outer selves, the individual and the collective, the fleeting nature of fashion movements and life itself, and the essence of individuality.
