Day 25 of the Tour | A Snapshot from April 11, 2009

April in Tokyo, where the cherry blossoms have begun to fall. This is a snapshot from Ryuichi Sakamoto's Japan piano tour, his first in four years, which began with a concert in Tokyo on March 18 and concludes with the final performance in Tokyo at the Showa Women's University Hitomi Memorial Hall on April 29 (Wednesday).

The Professor's family has finally arrived in Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture. The cherry blossoms at Matsumoto Castle were in full, magnificent bloom.
Today's venue is the Matsumoto Performing Arts Centre. It's a very modern, spacious, and cool place.

In the concerts so far, the Professor has already performed over 50 different songs more than 300 times in total. An astonishing number!
And today, the Professor's lunch is, once again, a delicious-looking bowl of soba noodles.

The concert proceeded with today's exquisite setlist.
Today's theme is 'Up and Down Special'.
The changing theme for each performance is one of the must-see aspects of this tour.

As many of you know, during the performance of 'composition0919' at this concert, mobile phone photos and digital camera shots are permitted. It's a truly exciting initiative.

I'm always thrilled by the way the sound of the Professor's piano is joined by the clicking of mobile phone shutters, and the stage's visuals and lighting are enhanced by the glow of phone screens.

The Matsumoto concert was also filled with ample talk, allowing many to deeply share a wonderful time with the Professor.
