Day 19 of the Tour | A Snapshot from April 5, 2009
April, the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Here's a snapshot of Ryuichi Sakamoto's first Japan piano tour in four years, which began with a concert in Tokyo on March 18 and concludes on April 29 (Wednesday) at the Hitomi Memorial Hall in Showa Women's University, Tokyo.
Ryuichi Sakamoto Playing the Piano 2009
Concert at Fukuoka Sun Palace Grand Hall on Sunday, April 5
Text by Rurihiko Hara

Today marks the halfway point of the Ryuichi Sakamoto Playing The Piano 2009 tour.
We've finally arrived in Kyushu, in Fukuoka.
This Fukuoka evening was deeply and profoundly colored by the professor's piano, accompanied by cherished pieces like 'bolerish,' 'ambiguous lucidity,' and
'+33,' making a welcome return.
And on this day, 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' was performed for the fourth time,
culminating in a frenzy of excitement with 'thousand knives' at the very end.
By the way, do you know which piece has been performed most frequently so far?
Among the pieces performed after the full 'out of noise' set,
the most frequently played is 'bibo no aozora.' (An incredible 11th performance today!)
Reflecting on 'SMOOCHY,' '1996,' and 'bibo no aozora' from ' /04',
listening to the performances on this tour,
one can begin to understand what the professor means by an ''out of noise' mood.'
