Get an Early Taste of the Limited Edition 'Auriverdes'

On the Isle of Islay, the 'Islay Whisky Festival,' a celebration of whisky and music, takes place annually from the last week of May to the first week of June. During this period, each distillery holds its 'Open Day' on a rotating schedule, attracting passionate malt fans. Ardbeg marks the final day of this festival (May 31st this year). Since 2012, this day has been designated 'Ardbeg Day,' and events are held worldwide not only for Ardbeg fans gathered on Islay but also for Ardbeg enthusiasts across the globe.

This year, the Ardbeg distillery on Islay will host a Peat Football Tournament, paying homage to the football fields of the island. Following this, exciting peat football matches will take place in various countries, including Japan. Currently, they are seeking 12 teams (of 5 players each) of tough and wild players to compete on a special peat football court built just for this day, as well as 200 spectators to watch the 'peat football' matches while enjoying a dram of Ardbeg.

Additionally, at the venue, you can get an early taste of 'Auriverdes,' the limited edition release for Ardbeg Day, available from the same day. This 'Auriverdes' features an impressive 'gold' whisky and 'green' bottle to celebrate the World Cup. By applying a special heating process to the inside of the cask lids, it achieves a dreamlike flavor that adds notes of mocha coffee and creamy vanilla to the smoky Ardbeg.
