DIESEL DENIM GALLERY AOYAMA
Presenting “POWER PLANT” by GENETO
DIESEL DENIM GALLERY, found only in Tokyo and New York, offers a shopping experience where denim is displayed as art, allowing visitors to appreciate it as if viewing a masterpiece. On the first floor of this gallery, an installation titled “POWER PLANT” by the architectural design firm GENETO is currently on display.
A Spatial Metaphor for a Hub of Culture and Art
This installation, titled “POWER PLANT,” is by GENETO, a group of five members based in Tokyo and Kyoto who work on architecture, furniture, and product design. It serves as a metaphor for DIESEL DENIM GALLERY as a place where the driving forces that dynamically move the world are born, like a power plant. The installation evokes a space filled with the energy of electricity and radio waves generated within.

Past Works by GENETO
Multiple "lightning bolt" frames decorate the space from floor to ceiling, creating asymmetry and visual interest. While the simplicity and openness of a single room are maintained, the pockets and complexities formed by these frames imbue the space with a unique atmosphere.
We want to experience the ever-changing scenery as we move, and our own presence within it.
