Carrying French spirit and culture across the globe
Air France was born in October 1933 from the merger of six existing French airlines. Since commencing operations in Japan in 1952, it has transported countless passengers to Paris, the gateway to Europe, and beyond.
It has carried more than just people. From cabin interiors and lounges designed by renowned designers, to uniforms created by famous fashion designers, and meals prepared by celebrated chefs—the French spirit and culture have been delivered on the wings of Air France.

For this special 80th anniversary, Air France has prepared a variety of programs. In partnership with Airbus, the world's largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380, adorned with a commemorative logo, will fly across the skies worldwide.
The in-flight magazine "Air France Magazine" features an extensive special report detailing its 80-year history. Additionally, special contributions from renowned writers will be published monthly for the next year, with an anthology planned for autumn 2014. Onboard, passengers will celebrate the anniversary with commemorative menus, amenity pouches, and cups featuring the special logo.
Furthermore, the English version of the special website offers an engaging look at Air France's 80-year history, categorized into four themes: "Network," "Staff," "Creation," and "Customers," enriched with abundant photographic materials and videos. A range of 80th-anniversary commemorative goods are also available for purchase on the official online store.
Although there is no Japanese version, the website allows visitors to experience Air France's role, including the operation of the supersonic Concorde, and the atmosphere of that era. We invite you to enjoy this "journey through time" with Air France.
