TOKYO MOON, a music program for adults hosted by DJ Toshio Matsuura. It airs every Sunday night from 23:30 on InterFM 76.1MHz. This week, we focus on Jimpster, also known as Jamie Odell, who is immensely popular among music lovers for his consistently open-minded approach to music creation.

Maturity Only a Veteran Can Possess
Jimpster, also known as Jamie Odell, is an artist, producer, and DJ who has long led the UK's deep house scene.
With a consistently open-minded approach to music creation, ranging from downtempo to jazzy breaks and tech house, he has garnered immense support from music lovers. Since the mid-1990s, alongside his own activities, he has headed the independent dance label "Freerange Records." He has earned support not only from the house scene but also from the new jazz and techno scenes, evolving his music in resonance with club scenes worldwide.
Last year, for his single "These Times," he collaborated with Simon Jinaddu, a singer and keyboard player who also works with Kirk Degiorgio as the music project The Beauty Room. The result was a delicate yet danceable modern soul track, featuring an exquisite balance of electronics and live instruments.
This was followed by a remix from Berlin-based DJ Dixon released earlier this year, pushing the track to become a genre-defying hit that electrified dancefloors around the globe.
And now, he has released his sixth artist album, "Porchlight And Rockingchairs," his first in seven years. With this album, he further expands his musical range, from deep house tracks suitable for the dancefloor to the melancholic mid-tempo tunes introduced here. It is a work that showcases the maturity only a veteran can possess.
