His New Masterpiece, a Culmination of His Career, is Coming Soon!
Louie Vega, a DJ and super-producer, burst onto the scene in the early 1990s. With his unit Masters At Work, formed with his close friend Kenny Dope, and the Nuyorican Soul project, he released soulful and vibrant tracks that created a massive sensation not only in the club scene but also in the pop music world.
Raised in a privileged environment with Hector Lavoe, a representative of New York salsa who performed with bands like Willie Colón and Fania All-Stars, and with parents who were also musicians, it was perhaps natural for him to choose music as his profession.
Alongside his projects with pop artists such as Madonna, Jamiroquai, and Janet Jackson, and with legends of jazz, soul, and Latin music like George Benson, Roy Ayers, Tito Puente, and Eddie Palmieri, he launched his solo project 'Elements of Life' ten years ago to express his roots in Latin music.
If one were to describe its musicality in a single word, it might be something like 'contemporary Latin music presented in a dance music style'.

The Eclipse, the second original album for this project, features remakes of dance classics by his favorite artists, including Webster Lewis's Brazilian number 'Barbara Ann' (introduced on the program), Stevie Wonder, Fela Kuti, Roy Ayers, and Bobby Humphrey. This grand work makes those familiar with the originals smile knowingly, while presenting a fresh, new music to younger generations, reviving them for today. It's an album that, even in early 2013, already hints at being one of the year's best.
