Best of 2012 Part 1!
Sunday nights, a personal moment of pure bliss unfolds with sophisticated music. This time, it's enhanced by DJ Toshio Matsuura's radio program, "TOKYO MOON."──Every Sunday, from midnight, Inter FM 76.1MHz broadcasts his curated selection of superb music from around the world, alongside topics to stimulate intellectual curiosity for adults. Here, we look back at the programs that have just aired each week. This week, we introduced 12 carefully selected, emotional tracks from the songs broadcast this year.

Best of 2012──First Half: 12 Emotional Tracks
For the next two weeks, under the title "Best of 2012," I will re-select and introduce favorite tracks from those broadcast this year.
The first week is comprised of emotional tracks. In particular, Robert Glasper Experiment's second track is from "Black Radio," which I personally consider the best album of the year. The reason for its support by so many listeners, I believe, is their uninhibited and ongoing pursuit of music, making expressions like "jazz from the hip-hop side" or "cross-genre crossover" no longer necessary. This is the only work for which I've acquired both the vinyl and CD. They are artists to watch, along with the venerable jazz label Blue Note, which is regaining its luster.Japan tour in Januaryis also not to be missed.
The other tracks listed here are all works that I've listened to repeatedly this year and hold dear. Next week, we will deliver the second installment of Best of 2012. Please look forward to it.

Countdown Party in the Sky, Held Again This Year
The "TOKYO CITY VIEW COUNTDOWN PARTY," a New Year's Eve event where you can welcome the new year while looking down at the panoramic Tokyo night view from the 52nd floor, will be held again this year. The newly completed "Tokyo Skytree" will undoubtedly add to the splendor of the already magnificent view.
Of course, the performers will be a gathering of talented artists active both domestically and internationally across genres, who will surely create a lively transition from the old year to the new with their music. I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of 2013 at an altitude of 250 meters above sea level.
