Opening with a New Single from The Invisible, Direct from London!
The summer Olympics, set to open this Friday, are finally upon us. At the beginning of the program, we introduced a remix of a track from the latest release by The Invisible, an alternative band from London that strongly conveys the challenging side of jazz, remixed by the talented Londoner Floating Points, creating a sense of ethereal floating.

The Invisible 『Wings EP』

Emeli Sande
『Daddy ft Naughty Boy Remixes』

Jack Sparrow 『Afraid of Me』
Next, we played "Daddy - Ifan Dafydd Remix" by Emeli Sande, a young, talented singer-songwriter from Scotland, remixed by James Blake under his alias "Ifan Dafydd." Blake is set to perform in Japan again this weekend at the Fuji Rock Festival. Following that, we presented a new groove from Jack Sparrow, who approaches jazz from a dubstep perspective, a sound that vibrates in the midnight hour.
The latter half of the program began with a soul jazz number featuring Gregory Porter, a jazz singer from Brooklyn, by The Rongetz Foundation, the project of Stéphane Ronget, a trumpeter and singer who is a member of France's Metropolitan Jazz Affair. This was followed by "Freedom Jazz Dance" by Eddie Jefferson, who developed a unique vocal style known as "vocalise," where he replaced instrumental solos with singing. We introduced new and classic vocal jazz from these distinctive artists. The program concluded with a version of the latest work by DUMP (James McNew of Yo La Tengo's bassist) remixed by Shintaro Sakamoto of the former Yura Yura Teikoku.
