Diary-T 254: The Road to LiLy
It’s utterly exquisite.
This is it. It’s really over, isn’t it?
Just when I’d given up hope, a helping hand is extended.
Perhaps the charm of LiLy Franky lies in that very salvation.
The presence of a savior, just for today, just for now.
As if seeing through our timid hearts praying to a higher power,
he so perfectly, at just the right moment,
offers his hand.
Let’s delve a little deeper into this, shall we?
First, the feeling of asking for something.
Everything begins here.
In this case, it means
commissioning LiLy to design “Rokin’Arrow.”
Even so, he’s undoubtedly a busy person,
so asking him would be too much, right…?
I muttered, simultaneously savoring the taste of resignation.
No, that kind of timidity won’t do. Let’s approach him with all our heart.
At least let’s get him to hear the gist of it. Suppressing my weakness, a surge of motivation arises. Yet, even at this stage, doubt has already taken root in a corner of my heart.
Unconcerned by my wavering emotions, the new staff member begins to act.
The result:
A favorable response.
“Please give my regards to Mr. Shigekazu,” he said, even relaying a message.
Oh, that’s great. That’s really great!
…But it’s not going to be that simple.
We need to approach him with all our heart,
otherwise, there might be a twist later on.
Proceed carefully, and with great attention.
…And then the deadline looms. I start contacting the person in charge, but
there’s no response. The person in charge grows anxious, sending repeated emails… and then contact is lost.
Sweat begins to bead on the person in charge’s brow.
Perhaps to counteract this inner turmoil, cold, insistent emails are sent, again and again, and again, and again,
Finally, the person in charge, pale-faced, says, “I can’t get in touch with him.”
…But wouldn’t sending cold emails be counterproductive?
Consider the other person’s position, think carefully about what to do… how to convey our impatience… how to act? Isn’t this where the real work begins… Pretending to work through emails and phone calls… A faint sense of emptiness pervades… Yes, I’ll try asking him myself…
“Please, I’m counting on you~” But… the situation remains unchanged.
Days of revising the layout continue… If it had arrived, I had a cover design ready, but… contact remains lost…
Hmm? For some reason, the person in charge, citing labor laws, suddenly resigns… A gaping void opens up in time.
Alright, this is it. We can’t wait any longer.
Let’s go with a different cover design. That one is also wonderful.
Then let’s finalize the layout. Mr. O… LiLy’s work didn’t arrive, did it…?
Ah, Mr. LiLy, it arrived last night. I’ll bring it right over.
…Wow. Wow, wow, wow. This is incredible.
Can we somehow use it for the back cover? Let’s move quickly.
…I see, it arrived. Truly remarkable. Wonderful. Hmm, this gives me the motivation to keep going…
Good work inspires people… I’m moved to tears.
LiLy is amazing, as always! The call of “LiLy is amazing!” is a cheer to encourage myself… In fact, during this project, the sales representative quit, and… where did the wires get crossed? It became an unassailable project… Of course, due to my own shortcomings… But still. This twist ending is truly wonderful.
We will make it a success. We will definitely make it a success.
I will never give up.
I’m grateful to LiLy for turning my weakness into strength.
And thankfully, the participants in this project are sending me encouraging emails one after another. It was good that I honestly conveyed the severity of the situation to everyone. They told me to continue the dictionary…
That’s right. The right thing to do isn’t written in any manual. You have to find it yourself. You have to desperately think for yourself about how to make everyone around you happy. The right thing isn’t written in laws or at government counters. Because you came here because you wanted to, you confirmed the conditions multiple times, and you started this of your own volition. Before looking for reasons why you don’t have to do it or why you can’t do it just because things aren’t going as planned, you must act. You must think. Because after 311, we haven’t stopped thinking. This Rokin’Arrow was started to confirm that very fact.
Yes, to complete this wonderful work,
how much did LiLy think and act?
A little imagination is all it takes to understand.
From artists who draw according to the manual,
we cannot expect joy or emotion.
I think it’s the same for any job.
The Road to LiLy
The Road to ○○
This time, it feels like we’ve climbed another slightly steep mountain.
Let’s keep going without getting discouraged.
Yes. I’m telling myself that.
Thanks, LiLy.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this project.
New beginnings, starting from here.
