A Sunday night, a moment of pure bliss for adults, drifting by with exquisite music. Elevating these moments further is the radio program "TOKYO MOON" by DJ Toshio Matsuura. Every Sunday, from 7 PM, he broadcasts a selection of wonderful music from around the globe, alongside intriguing topics for the curious mind, on Inter FM 76.1MHz. Here, we revisit each week's broadcast. This week, we present a selection imbued with longing for the coming spring.

A Fantastical Spring Evening

Tokyo's spring arrival seems delayed this year due to an unusually cold winter, yet we can surely feel spring drawing nearer each day. For this broadcast, I've chosen a selection of primarily fantastical tracks to evoke that eagerly anticipated season. From established artists like Paul Weller and Norah Jones, to The Ting Tings, and even the creative American soul and dance duo The Satisfaction, whose groove-filled music is a must-watch in 2012, I believe this makes for an exciting 30 minutes.

One Year On From The Disaster, With Thoughts Held Close

On March 11th, marking one year since the great earthquake, we held a charity run inviting listeners of TOKYO MOON and readers of OPENERS. The rain that had persisted until the day before ceased, and running together with like-minded individuals in the refreshing weather was a deeply moving experience. The funds collected from everyone that day have been donated to the HATAKO Fund, which supports the lives of children in Tohoku. You can view the report from the day here.
