Diary-T 171 COLMAN BROTHERS
Amazing. Truly wonderful.
What a great era. Listening to all the best of the past,
just the best parts.
But you still need taste and technique, right?
This delicate balance can change the world.
It's more about arrangement, or rather, taste.
Every song is at least passable, they're all good. There's not a single 'this one's a bit off'.
An album where every track is great – that hasn't happened in ages, has it?
I'm floored. The sound is incredible. As expected, the UK is amazing.
The tone, or perhaps the recording technique, it's a collection of first-class elements.
The DJ's role is to introduce. Back to basics, I see.
It's as if the history of music has staged a comeback,
and the UK, which has created the history of music culture,
has finally, truly, at long last, entered an era where the entire nation is getting serious.
I genuinely want to be a player.
Even if it's incredibly tough.
If I were reborn, I'd still want to be a musician. It makes you think that.
Good music enriches life profoundly.
I'm so happy to have discovered such good music.
The following is an introduction from clubberia.

The debut album from Colman Brothers, a club jazz unit comprised of real-life brothers Matt and Andrew Colman, who reside in Bristol, UK, is complete!! Influenced by the jazz and samba of the 60s and 70s, and revering artists from Freddie Hubbard and Horace Silver to Peter Herbolzheimer, their sound is a much-talked-about work favored by Gilles Peterson and Nicola Conte!
"I love everything about them!" Gilles Peterson (BBC RADIO 1)
The debut album from Colman Brothers, a club jazz unit featuring trombonist Matt Colman and his brother Andrew Colman, a trumpet/F-flugelhorn player – both active in the UK jazz scene, with Matt also having participated in sessions for 4 Hero, Chris Boden, and Herbie Hancock. Their sound, a favorite of Gilles Peterson and Nicola Conte, is a modern dance jazz album packed with diverse charms, from thrilling Afro-Cuban jazz and modal jazz to groovy vocal numbers featuring their sister, Sarah Colman (yes, also a sibling!). It's a masterpiece recommended for fans of classic modern jazz, including M-1 "MR DG," dedicated to Dizzy Gillespie.
