Mujin-to Production is pleased to present the Chim↑Pom exhibition "SURVIVAL DANCE." Four months after "REAL TIMES," held in May following the March 11 earthquake and nuclear disaster, this exhibition, originally planned for last year, has taken on an entirely different form. Following their previous work, which captured "real moments" and "real times," Chim↑Pom has turned their attention to how to live joyfully amidst the current realities in Japan and the world, and how to confront these issues as artists. In "SURVIVAL DANCE," they explore ways of living that dynamically and joyfully navigate severe circumstances such as "controlled society," "radioactive contamination," "social inequality," and "historical tragedy," presenting their approach through various media including photography, video, painting, sculpture, and installation.
The exhibition will also feature works that will be completed for an exhibition at the Maruki Museum in December.
What they present to you this time is not the "present," but the "future."
This is no longer the kind of situation depicted in 20th-century science fiction, asking "What if this future happened, how would we survive?" Instead, we are faced with a real and urgent situation that compels us to consider, "Given the reality we are witnessing, what kind of life can we lead?" Please witness their future vision, which moves beyond the competitive "survival spirit" seen in concepts like shelters and battles, and steps outward into reality.

I wanted to recommend the Chim↑Pom exhibition information I received by email, so I am sharing it as is.
Chim↑Pom has momentum. The saying "the momentum to knock down a flying bird" is quite apt.
Our conversation at the Dictionary Club was also extremely enjoyable.
I hope to hold a special exhibition with them someday.

Now, it's time for the NEIGHBORHOOD Shibuya opening.
They too have great momentum. I want to plan a lively event together.

Speaking of which, I recently read a phrase in a novel: "Crazy people only recognize other crazy people."
I interpreted this to mean that good energy attracts good energy.
