PIRATE RADIO, Tuesdays 11 PM - Midnight on InterFM

This is the first installment of our "Choose the Music Together" segment.

The theme is: "Memory, Consciousness, Hope."

We're soliciting song requests using the hashtag #ckpirate_927, and
we'll be remixing them, adding my own selections to the mix.

PIRATE RADIO, approaching its 88th broadcast, has until now been a one-way street, with music curated by DJs and producers.

The way we listen changed with the advent of Twitter.

Thanks to it, listeners can now do more than just enjoy the music played on the radio;

by tweeting their thoughts on their favorite tracks, a unique relationship with the program has formed.

Enjoying the radio's selections together, sharing our thoughts together.

The way we enjoy radio has transformed.

One might even say radio, once thought dead, has been resurrected. Or has it?

The proof? DJs and curators who participated discovered a new kind of exhilaration, distinct from the dance floor, in the reactions of Twitter users to the songs they chose.

And, more excitement! Towards a program with listener participation.

This time, we're inviting those Twitter listeners to choose the music too.

From a relationship of listening & tweeting, one step further! Towards a program where you participate yourself.

That said, I'll be remixing the program's direction,

so what will happen on air that night remains a complete mystery. If you want to call it that, but what will we do?

As I write this, it's a complete blank slate.

Yes, the only thing we know for sure is that it's a blank slate.
