In 1993, during this music selection, I chanced upon this album and discovered Zingaro.



There are no spoken lines; horses and riders perform in sync with fantastical music and lighting. Zingaro is a equestrian spectacle that fuses the intelligence and imagination of horses and humans, creating a new artistic world where theater and music, stage and art, are seamlessly integrated.



Have you ever considered how human history would have unfolded without horses? The distribution of landscapes and human settlements, the development of agriculture and commerce, the boundaries of nations and ethnicities, and the spread of ideas and major religions would undoubtedly be different from what we know today. Furthermore, it is thanks to horses that we humans have realized dreams of glory, conquest, and escape, experienced beauty and freedom, and cultivated a sense of morality and self-mastery.

France boasts an astonishing 1.5 million horse riders.

Who knew the relationship between horses and humans could be so captivating?

As a child, I saw a movie about the affectionate bond between a cow and a boy, and I wanted to raise a cow.

There was also a TV drama where horses could talk, but I never felt the urge to own a horse.

When the Japan Racing Association's horse park was nearby, I had the chance to admire horses on several occasions, but

the pervasive smell of horse manure in the air was off-putting, and I never felt the desire to own one.

However, a few days ago, while looking through a travel magazine's feature on France, I

re-encountered Zingaro on a page showcasing the allure of horseback riding.

Apparently, Zingaro now resides within the grounds of the Palace of Versailles.

There, meticulously groomed, pure white horses and elegant French women live.

That woman, it is said, has lived her life in connection with horses since childhood...

It was a beautiful photograph. That single image captivated me.

The relationship with horses. There lies another exchange of affection I had never considered.

What does it mean to live richly? I found myself dreaming of another life I might wish to experience.

Ah, I haven't been to Paris in nearly ten years...

Zingaro... gazing at the beautiful horses... perhaps my love for Paris has been rekindled...
