Diary-T 108 Shiriyasu Man
When the truth is found to be lies
And all the joy within you dies
Don't you want somebody to love?
Don't you need somebody to love?
Wouldn't you love somebody to love?
You better find somebody to love, love
Jefferson Airplane, "Somebody to Love"
Superb. Truly superb. The relationship between music and film is exquisite.
I watched the film "A Serious Man."
Wisdom, skill, wealth, and outstanding talent.
Quality is a truly wonderful word.
A single song reveals the essence of the film. The Coen brothers' brilliance is astonishing.
Their restrained approach offers a deep and sharp perspective on America.
Perhaps it's a self-deprecating world only the Coen brothers, being Jewish themselves, could depict? Still, the uniqueness of Jewish people is such that their very existence becomes an intellectual comedy. In a way, they seem like a truly formidable people to humanity... people driven by complex religions, whom I know nothing about. Ignorance leads to misunderstanding and false preconceptions.
And film also has the role of conveying the present moment of the era and the present moment of history.
At least, I learned from this film. Though there's much I don't understand...
I take my hat off to their intellectual sensibility, drawing out universal themes while depicting such particular people.
Yes, when people lose everything. Still, seek the one you love.
Humanity has not yet given up on love.
But perhaps that wasn't the main point...

Yes, yesterday, Sunday, was a rather good day.
A nostalgic song came to mind.
