iphone Graphe
To feel the world through the eyes of others, via a camera.
Whether that can be shared is left to individual sensibility, but
the iphone Grapher has come to seem like countless cameras installed on street corners.
In other words, the reality captured by countless cameras released indiscriminately into the world
blatantly and openly conveys the scent of this era, today.
What kind of world are we living in now?
The aura emanating from the subjects captured
should be the individual sensibility of the iphone Graphers who captured them, but
for some reason, to me, it feels like the air of today—a sense of publicness?
Is this what we call a shared consciousness?
Just as musical movements of an era occur simultaneously,
the aura that emerges from a vast number of photographs gives me a similar sense of atmosphere.
This suggests that the blind spots of the era, as expressed by individuals, may also be appearing here.
In other words, if individuals, without the same independence as before, are swayed by the atmosphere of the times,
it could lead to an even greater amplification of the clever propaganda of those in power. And all this without the individual being even remotely aware of it.
Behind the question, 'Why do so many people like this song?' lies
an invisible mechanism that makes everyone like it. It's not that such things don't exist.
Therefore, experiencing the collection of around a thousand photographs
gathered at this iphone Grapher gallery
may be a rare opportunity to confirm
what kind of era we, you and I, are living witnesses to.
And if we consider the appeal of "ZINE," which has steadily spread as a medium in recent years,
as a wave of expression that anyone can easily participate in,
the wave of iphone Graphers may grow into a power that overturns the very concept of art.
If you consider yourself an iphone Grapher, it's worth indulging in such a dream.
