Scha Dara 2011
All-Electric Fair
2011.7.3 (Sun) @ Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall

“Scha Dara Parr’s new official photo is insane lol.”
I tweeted about it impulsively, and the reaction was so overwhelming that I was genuinely stunned.
I later learned that BOSE and I are from the same region, but
SCHA has been my favorite musician since their debut.
Of course, I don't dislike hip-hop, but
you see, I witnessed its true beginnings, its initial momentum, in New York
I even ventured into the Bronx with trepidation, and for a while, I was completely captivated, but then,
it became too formulaic, you know, and so,
if I had to choose, it's not so much hip-hop,
but I'm reminded anew that I love SCHA's approach to music.
Because their sense is impeccable. Always has been.
Can you think of any other group like them? No way?
Though, it's possible I'm just not aware of them.
But you know, ever since then, I still go to Tower Records, HMV, and other stores,
hoping to find hip-hop with a new approach I've never heard before,
and I always put on the headphones at the listening station, but
lately, I rarely encounter anything like that.
A little while ago, I was sometimes surprised by South American artists, but...
Even with English, if I don't understand what they're saying,
there are times when the nuances of the words or a fresh sound can really resonate with me.
That said, ultimately, if you don't understand the lyrics, it's not as engaging,
so before I knew it, I found myself listening only to instrumentals. Ah, the good old days!
And SCHA, even in their sampling, the way they choose sounds is modern, shall we say,
I think they listen very, very carefully, to a lot of good music, probably,
and their sense for capturing the zeitgeist is always exceptional, so I surrender to their ideas.
And this time, their styling, hair, and makeup are all masterfully done.
It looks simple at first glance, but in reality, it's something that's quite difficult for non-professionals to achieve.
And not just hip-hop, where everyone is so serious now, but
rock, pop – fundamentally, the soul of the attitude towards making music dies, doesn't it?
In times like these, you have to make people laugh! Otherwise, rock will cry and go home.
Given all this, of course, I'm curious about the live show at Hibiya.
I might be getting on in years, perhaps a bit too much, so maybe I'm just curious,
but I haven't given up. Not yet.
So, I tried playing around with SCHA using an app I've been enjoying recently.

And the reason SCHA's style is established like this is because the members are, after all,
best friends forever.
Which leads to even more playful experimentation...
Truly, no matter how old they get, men are always drawn to fun things. Gentlemen!
And lately, I've got nothing to lose and have become quite thick-skinned, so I'll introduce myself.
