More than a month has passed since the earthquake, yet many may still feel a resurgence of anxiety with each aftershock felt in the Kanto region. In such times, why not turn off the TV, tune into the radio, and let the music help you relax?



This broadcast featured information about the second installment of "Namaoto Jazz," a groundbreaking event taking place during Golden Week, a holiday period that for many extends up to ten consecutive days. This event exclusively features music performed entirely by human hands, with absolutely no programmed music – in other words, "live sound" – and we shared it alongside the renowned track "Watarase" by jazz pianist Fumio Itabashi, who is scheduled to perform as a live guest.



We also introduced a funky track from the new album "Smoking In Heaven" by the young London sibling band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, set for release in late May. From Japan, we featured Calm, an artist who has quietly but passionately pursued his music, with a best-of album documenting his fourteen-year journey. Additionally, we presented Kingdom★Afrocks, an Afro-rock band whose debut album is slated for release in June.

May 6th (Fri): "Namaoto Jazz 2" is Finally Here!

"Namaoto Jazz," a groundbreaking event initiated by DJs Shuya Okino (KYOTO JAZZ MASSIVE) and Toshio Matsuura, where performers completely abstain from using programmed music. The concept, where DJs play only music recorded through live performance and bands play solely with human effort, has garnered significant attention both domestically and internationally. The deep love for music that transcends generations and genres will surely resonate deeply with those who share this special night.
