Electronic Music from Around the World
For a Fantastical Spring Night
A Sunday night, a moment of pure bliss, where time flows gently with exquisite music. Delivering such a rich experience is the radio program "TOKYO MOON" by DJToshio Matsuura.—He curates and presents wonderful music from across the globe, along with topics to stimulate intellectual curiosity for adults, every Sunday from 7 PM on Inter FM 76.1MHz. Here, we bring you the latest broadcast program each week. This week, we began with a collection of tracks imbued with an emotional, almost oriental feel, selected to evoke a spring night.

With a Chilled Tohoku Sake in Hand—
This year, the cherry blossoms seem to have fallen quickly, with many areas having already finished blooming. Perhaps it was precisely their fleeting beauty that offered a moment of solace to many. I hope we can all raise a glass together next year under the night cherry blossoms, toasting to how far we've come. I intend to work hard every day to make that happen.

This time, we started with a selection of tracks that evoke the gentle night breeze scattering cherry blossoms, imbued with an emotional, somewhat oriental feeling. It was a 30-minute journey, swaying to the ethereal synthesizer harmonies, gradually building in rhythm until the groove reached its peak, all while maintaining a cool composure. The season ahead promises to be pleasant. I look forward to enjoying these spring nights with a chilled Tohoku sake in hand.

Red Bull Music Academy is Here!

Red Bull, now a familiar name in Japan as an "energy drink," has established itself globally.
Do you know about the "Red Bull Music Academy"? It's a music "vocational school" that tours different cities worldwide each year, inviting producers, DJs, and musicians as instructors. Together with aspiring musicians, they conduct lectures, workshops, and sessions.
I myself participated as an instructor in 2006 when it was held in Melbourne, Australia.
This unique and meaningful event, unlike any other, was scheduled to be held in Tokyo this autumn. However, due to the impact of the recent great earthquake, it was unfortunately canceled.
But just recently, an alternative venue was decided: Madrid, Spain, and the event to nurture fresh talent will take place this year. Consequently, the application period has been extended. There's still time, so why not apply if you're interested? Hoping for its eventual return to Tokyo, I send my best wishes to Barcelona.
